Can someone id this bird hidden in a tree at Cala de san vicenc.

Looks like a male Common Crossbill to me.

Crossbill for me too, can't say about its sex though.

It's probably one of the subspecies of Common Crossbill - Loxia curvirostra curvirostra and Loxia curvirostra balearica, often called 'Spanish' Crossbill. If it's Mallorca then it should be L.c Balearica.

Don't ask me what the differences are as the whole group is a nightmare.
I think they're lighter than our birds.

I hadn't seen its head! Thought it was hidden behind the cones...
