Just back from a working trip to Osijek, and revisited the wonderful Kopacki Rit Reserve for 3 hours along the raised road/dyke from the Visitor Centre on Saturday 23rd March.
Very good views of White-tailed Eagles - 6 visible at once, on one occasion. Lovely male doing diving displays, with white tail fanned at the bottom of the dive. Very spectacular. Marsh Harriers and Common Buzzards around. Not a lot of waterfowl, but Ferrugionous Duck and Red-crested Pochard were there, and are always great birds to watch.
Managed to call a Grey-headed Woodpecker to me by imitating the descending call.
One Chiffchaff, half a dozen Barn Swallows. One Black-winged Stilt.
Cold for the time of year, and snow arrived in the night, to blanket covering the following Monday. Bad timing for the migrants...!!
Best
