Poor Bird (1 Viewer)

I was very upset today, my attention was drawn to a movement in the grass outside my front window, at first I thought it was a mouse but eventually it showed itself to be a Wren. What's so disturbing about that you might ask, well the wind was shrieking around my house, probably force 8 or 9, lashing with snow, temperature almost freezing and this little bird was scratching around looking for food. I tried to think of some way I could help it, maybe put out some food, a few bits of bacon perhaps or a wee bit of the sausage left over from yesterday. It may have helped, unfortunately I'll never know, it tried to fly, the wind caught it and it was whisked away so fast I lost sight of it. I think I'll put out some food anyway, just in case it comes back, or maybe some other staving bird will find it.

Spare a thought for the birds just now, if you've any scraps of food left over, put them out, but make sure they're out of the reach of the cats.
