Bilbao to Picos de Europa - bird/butterfly/dragonfly sites on route (1 Viewer)

On 23 June I will be driving from Bilbao airport across to the Picos de Europa. It occurs to me that there might be a few lowland things to enjoy before hitting the mountains that we could stop for on route. I'm particularly keen on any known dragonfly sites (the maps indicates we cross a few rivers and some might be worth exploring), or maybe the odd known birding site.

Any info gratefully received.

No specific sites for you but we drove this route last year and driving was difficult due to the numbers of raptors we saw!

My top tip is just avoid the motorway - so you can stop when you see things.
