It was a very unusually mild day for Feb. I can't recall as warm a day this time of the year ever. Hope this doesn't mean we'll be getting more hot days over 100 degrees this summer.

I had some running around to do (not literally, of course), but when I got back, I went out in the backyard and started sweeping the distance trees for birds. Lo and Behold, I spotted a new species I hadn't seen before in some trees about two blocks away. Female and male. They looked like big, fat house finches. The smaller one had a very bright scarlet breast, the larger one, just stripes similar to a female house finch. I just needed a bit more resolution...

I bet if I had a Prime ED, I would have made the ID!
