Buggered my back in the week organising the traffic signs on the road at Lower Bittell so had to cut down on the time spent out and about but managed to pop in this evening and greeted by the Female Kingy on her usual post and a great display (as there's been all week) from the Swifts, swallows and Martins late on.

Also a first for me here ...... a Tufted Duck Mom with 5 little ones.....

At last "they" have had a tidy up at Lower Bittell.....it seems years we have had to put up with the road falling in then the terrible precautions to stop me seeing anything on the water...lol
They have cleared away all the overgrown vegetation as well as all the debris on the road replacing the crap fencing with new stuff ...along with new traffic cones and signs.
Just hope they go all the way and do the repairs now..........

B.T.W....don't bathe or drink the water...danger of death....lol

Nice stuff Keith - there is little chance of anything getting thru without being snapped with you around:t:

Nice to see my boat license funds are being put to good use for a change!

ATB Laurie:t:

Kingfisher...Common Tern...Hobby on Lower and Shrub Mill now....yesterday Sparrowhawk and every evening brilliant displays from Swift...Swallow and Martins.

This evening there was just 2 SWIFT and earlier ONE
SWALLOW with no Martins around Lower.....wonder if thats the end of the fun this year.

The Hobby returned exactly an hour after...flying along the tree line and up to Upper. Mrs Kingfisher popped up on Lower and Shrub's white posts but was off as quick as you see her.
The Tufted young are down to only 4 now - fingers crossed they all survive.

Spots from last few days in sun, rain, light and shade.

Could not find any Terns yesterday afternoon but a lovely Male Pochard on Lower cheered me up.
Also only the 2nd sighting of a Grey Wagtail this summer.

The Shovellers are still around and have been on Mill Shrub for a few days....only counted 6 at any time.
The Hobby has been feeding on Dragons all week.
Had 3 Grey Wagtails together on the overflow"ramp" today.
