I watched this Brown Hawker fly back and forth over a nature reserve water before it eventually perched. Pity it hadn't been on a bare stem and it would have been a better image.

I wouldn't call it a beast Phil but handsome it certainly is to those with a liking for dragonflies. It's taken me two summers to capture a shot of a Brown Hawker.
