Hi,
I found this moth on my dinner plate in South San Diego County. I googled and found it looks like a nemoria, but I couldn't find which one. Can anyone tell me exactly what I have?
Thank-you,
Sue

Hi Harri and Surreybirder,
Thanks for the responses and web sites. Just few green moths out there eh? Harri, the leptalea does look good. I found another that sounded good last night but I couldn’t find an image. Now I can’t find the name (I was up way too late) . I wanted to be specific because I found this moth on my property in San Diego County and I am keeping a record of the flora and fauna I find there. It is a unique spot and I am always finding something to id. I should have known I would get the usual unending list of suspects when I took the photo. Even after countless times of seeing something and thinking, “Oh, this one is so different, it should be an easy ID.”, I am still amazed at how daunting the task is at times. I will list as a tentative leptalea. I hope to connect to local specialists when I am home for good because I have lots of bugs, reptiles, mammals and plants to learn about.
Thanks again, Sue
