Italian Birder
Hi all.

Last week-end, on sat. 01-March-03, during the annual meeting of the Ebn Italy Association (the national birder association) a Pelagic Trip was carried out between Piombino and the Elba island, Tuscany, C Italy. Among other birds (particularly gulls, Cory's and Mediterranean shearwaters) a Sooty Shearwater was identified and twitched by more than 60 birders.

This was the first-of-ever TRUE Pelagic Trip organized in Italy, using a lot of "chum" and waiting for the rarity !

This was the first time with a twitchable rarity during the annual meetings: the 9th Sooty Shearwater for Italy if accepted.

Cheers
