New Bird and question about scopes (1 Viewer)

Hi

I am a newbie. Know nothing much about birds, could identify a few common ones in my area and thats about all. More into nature and solitudes, watching animals while taking some photos. Have some DSLRs and long lenses with the gimbals and stuff. It was how I got started. But realized when I am taking pictures, I am not relaxed and not enjoying nature. I realized I probably enjoyed more if I took less pics and live the moments more.

I have a budget Nikon Aculon 8X25 that I really like coz its light and easy to carry, but it taught me a lesson about eye relief as a spectacle wearer. So I ordered a Bushnell H2O 7X50 with a bino harness and it should be arriving soon. Eager to try it out or bring it to the zoo.

Hi sjackal and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here. I look forward to hearing your news and will hopefully see some pictures of the wild birds you see when out and about.

Thank you Delia, I posted my question about scopes in a separate thread at the correct section of the forum, hope its better that way.

I just got back from a short birding session. I photographed a white-throated kingfisher. Maybe I will post photos later.

I look forward to seeing it - I love kingfishers.

There's one or two other people post from Singapore too - I'm sure you'll come across them soon.

I had some Bushnell H20s for ages and they were absolutely fine with my specs - not the greatest bins but good value for money.

Thank you all! Here are the pics:
