30th May 2013

Weather today was very changeable cool wind but remained dry for most of day.

Information was received that a Great White Egret was on our local patch at Adwick Washlands a quick dash down only to find it had relocated to the other side of the River Dearne , after a walk of around 3/4mile we discovered it had relocated yet again !!
After a discussion we went searching local reserves where it may have been , and thankfully it was found once again.

Denaby Ings

139 Great White Egret

My friends and I arrived and had good views of the bird for around 20 minutes when it took to the sky and continued travelling down the valley.
A new bird for my UK list.
