Lanius isabellinus (Isabelline Shrike) ringed in February in Spain. (1 Viewer)

Hi Manolo!

How exciting - do you know whether the bird was caught in one of the usual ringing sites or if nets were set up specifically for catching it? Can't get your link to work, by the way.

Best regards,

Iben

The bird had been seen for around a week in the area. It was trapped last weekend with a "cepo-malla".

Exactly, Mormot

Two LaBORINg Project Ringers caught it with "cepo-malla".

Before, This shrike had been photographed by several digiscopers

I'm flying into Malaga next weekend and I usually visit the Guadalhorce reserve on leaving the airport. I wasn't intending to on this trip because I've got a long drive ahead of me, but I might reconsider if the shrike is still there and if it's not too inconveniently located in the reserve.

Does anyone have any detail on which part of the reserve the bird is frequenting? I looked on Ricard Gutiérrez's website and the colouration of the background in the photo of the bird there seems to suggest it is in the beach area, is this so?

Thanks

Alan
