ooh that's a nice surprise: how I can have waded through all the tiger photos and safari adverts in BBC wildlife magazine all these years and missed those crossbills is beyond me..

Ive been familiar with Daves work since I was a nipper when his work appeared in the Irish Wildbird Conservancy's newsletters. His watercolours in the Garden Bird Book are wonderful, one of the best pieces of bird illustration I've come across..
