.. Nothing like a bit of preperation,.....Now a group of us are now in advanced planning mode for a trip to Pellee spring 2017, doing Alonquin first, Pelee area, then to Michigan for the Kirtlands and back to Toronto, any local info on places to stay around the Pelee area or a places deemed worthy of a visit please detail.

Best Western is the closest hotel to Pelee, has decent meals, and I think offers coffee and some breakfast (bagels) early in the morning during May for birders. Otherwise it's just a regular hotel but if you're like me then you'll be spending most of your time away from it anyway. Also, if you're waking up early, woodcocks are usually heard as they display in the marsh right beside the hotel parking lot.
