Bassenthwaite Kite (1 Viewer)

After seeing the Osprey at Bassenthwaite I was heading back towards Penrith when I saw a kite but which one. The bird was darker in colour than the red kites we get around Leeds and the tail shape didn’t have the pronounced V shape of the red but it was a definite V. I was driving at the time so I couldn’t get to my camera or binoculars.

theres a buzzard with missing tail feathers around that area that has been mistaken for a kite in the past

cheers
