Hi forum-goers! My wife and I will be moving to Beijing in exactly one week (!) and I'm hoping to hit the ground running with migration under swing.

I've found some good sites with info on hot spots and the like, but what I'd really like is to connect with some birders there. Does anyone know of any regular bird walks, meet ups, things of that nature?

Any and all advice is most appreciated!

Welcome to China and the forum!

Terry Townsend's site and Terry himself provide an excellent source of info in birding in China and Beijing in particular. https://birdingbeijing.com/birders-guide-to-beijing/

As you say it is time for the migration to get into swing. Unfortunately, up here in the NorthEast I have had only one day of the last ten that it was not raining or threatening rain and of course that day I had other things keeping me from going out.

two words:-

"Terry Townsend"

(as the others have said) - he's available on twitter, facebook, through his website etc.

you will have a great time birding in Beijing, there is a lot going on!
