Fieldscope 11 30x eyecup replacement (1 Viewer)

Have a 60mm Fieldscope ED 11 bought in September 1991. Some time later (mid nineties) I purchased the 30x WA eyepiece. The rubber eyecup needs replacing but Nikon inform me they no longer stock replacements. Any ideas as to where I might obtain a suitable replacement?
Thanks
Robert

Hi Robert

A direct replacement may be impossible, maybe you could fashion one from some rubber gasket material, or buy a winged eyecup set that are really for binoculars but might work. Ace optics sell them.

Or visit Minsmere where they have bits that have come off optics in a box. Might be an eyecup that fits.

There is an eyepiece like yours on ebay but that looks like that's starting to split too.

Of course you could upgrade to the newer twist up 30x eyepiece for a price...

Hello dipped

Thanks for your useful reply. I agree that my best approach is to visit a specialist retailer who may have a suitable alternative. After 40 plus years of using straight scopes I have recently purchased an angled scope, but find it awkward to use in a hide whereas a straight scope on a hide clamp works well for me. I am reluctant to use a tripod in a hide unless it a modern design such as the one at RSPB Titchwell.
Probably need to improve my tripod skills (or lack off).
