Please help, I am a complete newbie when it comes to bird watching, and I have found one little specimen that I cannot seem to get a shot of.....I can only describe it.
There seem to be a pair building a nest in my area.
It has a light brown body, tan coloured, perhaps a hint of purple to the brown. The head is black and white. When the wings are folded, the tail is generally black and white, with a tiny bit of blue - when open, you can see that blue covers the centre of the wings.
This bird is bigger that a blackbird.
This is probably a really common garden bird, which is why I'm counting on this description being ok, but I just can't find pictures anywhere and its so beautiful!
