Quick question re Rutland Water (1 Viewer)

Can I ask a question re Rutland Water nature reserve in Leicestershire? I was thinking of stopping there as a half way point on my journey to Norfolk and was wanting to know if they had a cafe at any of the visitors centres to get some lunch? I've had a look at the website but can't see any mention of places to eat there so just wanted to check with those in the know before I plan my journey?

Many thanks...

I don't remember there being any cafes, but better to ask someone who knows Rutland better than me :)

The Egleton visitor centre usually has sandwiches and there is a coffee machine.

There are cafes at the three big carparks - Whitwell, Sykes Lane (the dam) and Normanton - but these are not at the main birding areas.

Thanks for your replies. I'm surprised a reserve as big has Rutland doesn't offer a bit more on the food front......may have to think of a plan B for my half way stop?!

Yeah, take your own and spend more time birding, or there are plenty of good pubs nearby that do a decent lunch. Keep hearing good things about the pub in Exton, but I've never had the time to go.
