A new series with Julian Clary starts this Sunday where he visits naturalists looks a great series.

I very much fear this has the potential to be truly awful. I've never seen anything I liked that had him in and the series title suggests it is going to consist of him ripping the piss out of hapless enthusiasts.

I so much hope I'm wrong.....

Yeah I'm thinking the same

Thank goodness I was 99% wrong - if only he hadn't used the "t" word inappropriately....

Stow Maries and Blandford Forum in the first programme: I may have to keep watching this.

John

I watched it, liked it for the wildlife content, and it is what I expected from Julian (as he is a comedian after all :cat: )

Never have been too keen on Julian for his 'razor sharp' remarks - and it showed as usual. No changes there!

The other programme birders, and people found him amusing so that is alright at least. ;)

I personally believe that famous presenters should stick at what they do best, and that is their own specialist entertainment.
If they show signs of non-interest it shines through each time when they get out of their depth...so Julian stick to your comedy acts please!

I have to say, Kathy, that I thought he was genuinely interested (and I had fully expected to hate the programme and him) and despite still not finding him funny, I was pleasantly surprised by the way the programme developed.

Perhaps if this stops him being his normal off-colour comedy self its better if he continues with his new career.... ;)

Even though now I kind of get bored with every nature programme go on about Otters I thought the Otter sequence was great with the Heron landing and taking off again.

Hi John

https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/nature-nuts-with-julian-clary

Maybe I was a little harsh about Julian. We all need to expand interests in our lives as we get older, and this proves that we are always learning new things .... Julian is doing just that.

As we get older we get wiser.

Julian has mellowed now, and he is a lot different to how he portrayed himself years ago.

There are more parts of the programme, so we will see how it progresses over the weeks. :t:
