(the one that looks like nothing, but the dark is the head, and the pale is the breast/belly. It is preening...)

Well done Nick - 1st 2 correct...not the 2nd 2 however!

The Crop (3rd Image) is actually the same colour, but shadows do wierd things!

The third shot on the first post is a house martin and the fourth is a linnet.

the second shot on the second post was is a dotterel

yep! For everyone else, this is on the outskirts of reston Lancs at the End of May this Year. Check the ELOC website to try and crack it!

Pic 3 & 4 Clue 1: both are winter visitors, 4 - Nick has got the closest...

I wanted a better record, but it was at the top of a ski slope in early Feb at Halifax, so the weather was terrible

I may as well give a clue to pic #3 as no one seems to be able to get it. It can be an eruptive visitor and should be in everyone's top 10!
