Latest Wood carving/sculpture (1 Viewer)

Hi Everyone, Just thought you might enjoy seeing my latest bird sculpture. It's a Common Potoo from Central and South America. The bird is depicted in its horizontal resting pose on a Cacao stump. Every component of the sculpture (bird, stump, bark, cacao pods, branches, leaves and the base) are carved separately from tupelo, holly, breadfruit tree wood, ojoche, pilon, sura and Dipteryx. All the feathers are carved individually and inserted into place before painting. The lifted and curled bark on the stump is also carved individually and inserted into place.

I hope you enjoy it!
