Lincoln's Sparrow or Song Sparrow? Richmond, California, USA

Hi,

I saw this bird this morning and in the moment was convinced it was a Lincoln's Sparrow - but now looking at the photos, I am wondering if it is just a Song Sparrow? I had thought a lighter bill than Song and seems to have a buffy eye ring - but body maybe seems too heavy for Lincoln's. Also, behavior was Song-like - perching in the open for a while.

If anybody can help me out I would appreciate it. Also, if you can let me know how best to distinguish between them, that would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Tim
