ID insect, Norfolk, England

I posted this in the Norfolk Insect thread but thought that I would post it here as well as I am very interested to know what it is. It was on my kitchen ceiling tonight and the body was about 15mm long. I think it could be a Southern Oak Bush-cricket but am not sure. Can anyone confirm this or tell me what it actually is?

Thanks in advance.

Ron

Hi Ron,

I think you're spot-on with Oak Bush Cricket and by the look of the curved claspers, a male. I'm fairly keen on my insects but certainly not an expert so maybe someone better qualified will confirm, but looks good at this stage.

Thanks Stu. I couldn't make out whether it had wings (Oak Bush-cricket) or not (Southern Oak Bush-cricket). It didn't open its wings before I put it out in the garden. Anybody else have an opinion?

Edit. I have attached a second image which suggests that it did have wings.

This is the normal Oak Bush Cricket. You can see the wings quite clearly in both photos (they're a slightly darker green than the abdomen if that helps you get your eye in (-: )

Many thanks Bob. An Oak Bush-Cricket it is then. A new one for me.
