Mindanao Feb 2018: Philippine Eagle and other endemics. Kitanglad, Davao, PICOP (1 Viewer)

If there are 1-3 people who are up for a trip to Mindanao from 9-18 Feb 2018, it would be a good chance to see the eagle and other Mindanao and Philippine endemics. Almost more important than the eagle is PICOP, one of the most alarmingly fast-disappearing forests on the planet. Time is of the essence in getting there before it's gone forever.

My dates and locations are set:

Day 1-4 (F-M, 9-12 February 2018). Arrive in the early morning at Cagayan de Oro and go to directly to Mt. Kitanglad for a 3 night 4 day Del Monte Lodge package for the eagle and other montane endemics.

Day 4 (M 12 February). Mt. Kitanglad to Davao. PM birdwatching for Cryptic Flycatcher and others.

Day 5 (Tu 13 February). Possible pre-dawn owling at Eden resort. Then to higher elevation for Whiskered Flowerpecker and others. Davao to ComVal for Lina's Sunbird. Drive to Bislig in late afternoon.

Day 5-10 (W-Su 14-18 February). Birding PICOP for lowland endemics in this very quickly disappearing forest. Get there soon or forever miss its riches.

Day 10 (Su 18 Feb) Bislig to Davao
