Without checking the birds mentioned in the key a small enhancement on:

Fr. P. Otto Meyer (1877-1937) German missionary to the Bismarck Archipelago 1902-1937

I assume Fr. P. = Franziskaner Pater = Franciscan father/padre

Nevertheless in here p. 20 of 30 (or 148 in the document) his full name is Rudolf Otto Maria Meyer born 27. June 1877 in Oldenburg, death 14. December 1937 on bord of a ship near Brisbane.
 
At least the the Fruit-Dove subspecies Ptilinopus solomonensis meyeri HARTERT 1926 (here) and the Rail subspecies (Rallus/Hypotaenidia) Gallirallus philippensis meyeri HARTERT 1930 (here) fits ... like a glove!
