Colour ringed Curlew (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I found a Curlew a few weeks back in South Wales with green over yellow on the left tibia, and green (or could it be metal?) over red on the right tibia. See photo attached.

I've checked cr birding and done a general search of the internet but can't find any matching schemes.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Laurie

This may be of use, I think I can see a white ring on the left tarsus.....

http://www.cr-birding.be/cr-EurasianCurlew.htm

"Two colour-rings on left and right tibia, single tall white ring on left tarsus.

note : last bird marked in 2001.

note 1: used colours are : dark-green, lime, yellow, orange, red, black, white.

note 2: 491 birds are marked at Teesmouth."

If it is the bird is at least 13 years old, the oldest recorded is 32 years!

Thanks for the help. I completely missed the white ring on the tarsus. I've sent an email so will hopefully hear back soon.

I've seen one of this project's Curlew and iirc the metal ring sits above or below the white ring and is often hard to see. IanF will also be interested to see this record, he has seen many from this project around the original ringing area.
