Black swans (1 Viewer)

Hello,
Today there was 2 Black swans in pagham harbour.
Could someone tell me anything about these Swan as i don't have them in my field guide.

well black swans i think come from australia tho im not sure. but the ones you will see about the place and the two in pagham harbour will be escapes i should think i know they dont migrate from australia.

I saw group of 4 at Pags a few months ago - chances are they are now second generation breeding in wild - impressive looking nonetheless

Would they be escapes from the wwt at arundel about 15 miles away or could they came from farther afield.

Not 100% certain that all of them would be escapes - there were breeding black swans at Abbotsbury that just turned up and there was a post about a few others breeding on their own. They've been here a long time now and there's quite a few of them out there, so I guess there would be a percentage of them that have bred outside of collections and zoos.
