Hi again Rob, back in the UK now!

Many of the ringed Spoonbills are from the Frisian Islands off the coast of the Netherlands. Of course, it could be a Spanish one!

Is the site crbirding for colour-ringed birds?

Thanks Jon,

I will use the site crbirding.org in future. Having just used it I can say for sure this bird is from southern France.

In all my time in the Gulf I didn't have one ringed bird. Now I am in Mauritania, I have had three from different species in a month. Of course it is because so many Western European migrants come this way and Western Europe is where the highest density of ringing is.
