CS3 question (1 Viewer)

I've been using Photoshop CS3 for a while now and things have been ok with my limited abilities, until today.
I've been playing about with a shot of a collared dove and everything started alright then when I went to crop the shot the message "cannot complete the request because the scratch disks are full " or something very similar :h?:.

What does that mean?? I can't see anything I've done any different to any other shot I've messed with.
