We are planning a trip to Scotland in mid august and planning to spend a few days on mull, does anyone know what birds are likely to still be present around this time? presumably most sea birds will be back out at sea and far harder to see?

Mid August all the nesting auks will be gone. The residents such as golden eagle and white tailed eagle will still be around. Plus the usual farmland and heathland small birds. There will still be basking shark and cetaceans around if you go out on a boat trip, plus you might get some auks or shearwaters from the boat.
