Had a holiday a while back, spent a day in Guadalest (Spain) took some great pics and some not so great pics, these are the later, sorry.
I think number 1 is a Serin, 2 looks to me like a flycatcher but I am really struggling, 3 I think is a female House Sparrow, maybe Spanish Sparrow - but the pic is very poor. Some help please.

As online sources seem to vary a lot on this, does anyone know of an accurate map of which parts of Spain the sparrows are actually Spanish Sparrows?

For the best details, there's an Atlas of Breeding Birds of Spain, but obviously in Spanish, and might not be easy to get hold of and/or very expensive.

Otherwise more generally, the western half of Spain (but not the northwest), and eastern Portugal.

Here you go:
Spanish Atlas (breeding birds) species accounts: http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/biodiv...rsidad/ieet_aves_atlas_indice_cientifico.aspx
Individual chapters: http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/biodiv...-biodiversidad/ieet_aves_atlas_capitulos.aspx
Spanish Sparrow: http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/biodiv...rios-nacionales/gorrion_moruno_tcm7-21779.pdf
As Nutcracker says, in Portugal they occur mostly in the eastern half, but they have been and probably still are expanding their range.

Well done Spain on making all this freely available!

Would never happen in Britain, publishers here are far too keen on screwing every last penny of copyright money out of people :-C
