Hi
I'm considerably sure that it is a Hume's Warbler but still wanted some re-assurance...

You - unhelpfully - don't say where it was taken!? The extremely strong mesial stripe doesn't strike me as being right for either species.

Ok thanks.... Will you please refer me to some text to differentiate between a Lemon-rumped and Pallas's warbler?
I have tried books and online material but could not find a definitive text. The thing is that Pallas's Warbler does not exist in Pakistan except one of its race which definitely does not look like my this bird. I'm hoping this image could lead to be identified as Pallas's nominate....

You seen very confused. Pallas's Warbler is monotypic and, as far as I know, has not occurred in South Asia; it winters in SE China, N Indochina and N Thailand.
https://www.hbw.com/species/pallass-leaf-warbler-phylloscopus-proregulus Your bird is a Lemon-rumped Warbler P.chloronotus simlaensis which is mainly resident in the Himalayas. It is essentially a much duller bird than Pallas's.https://www.hbw.com/species/lemon-rumped-leaf-warbler-phylloscopus-chloronotus http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?Bird_Image_ID=98890&Bird_ID=1834&Bird_Family_ID=&Location=http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?Bird_ID=1835&Location=

I believe that Lemon-rumped Warbler was once considered conspecific with Pallas's, which is possibly where the confusion has arisen.

Indeed...the Pallas's Warbler complex became 5 species: Gansu Leaf Warbler P.kansuensis; Chinese Leaf Warbler P.yunnanensis; Pallas's Leaf Warbler P.proregulus; Lemon-rumped Warbler P.chloronotus & Sichuan Leaf Warbler P.forresti

After my comment above, i discussed the same with a friend and got to the point why I thought a race of Pallas's exists in Pakistan. Thanks a lot for bearing with me... :t:
