Hello group

I did my best with the site but I really have no idea what I captured today. It is a very very bad pic, I am sorry about this, I hope to see the bird again. I noticed the red belly too late and therefore I did not see the bird on time.

Any ideas?

Crossbill (Kruisbek), male.

Their diet of conifer seeds is very thirst-making, so they need to come for water a lot!

yee michael.... are you a walking bird encyclopedia? how do you know all this? I know that I have to look closely to the beak first as to figure out to what family they belong. but after that?

They are fairly common up here - so I see quite a few of them, and recognised it immediately. Had one today, in fact.
