Can birds predict future weather? (1 Viewer)

Yes and not.

Many migratory birds, including geese, waders and swifts can predict coming of major wave of bad weather (rain, storm, cyclone) one to few days in advance. We know it from watching their movements. Probably birds, in addition to cues visible to men, like wind, can sense changes in air pressure and hear very low sounds produced by movements of air masses.

Birds cannot predict weather long term, or clearly make disastrous mistakes like starting to breed after a period of good weather and failing en masse. From the current understanding that random events determine weather over longer time, it would be extremely surprising if they could.
