Hey everyone! I got these vintage binoculars from a garage sale and I've been having a heck of a time identifying them. They do not have any stamps or anything on them all I know is that they where made in England I believe.

Hi BSB003 and welcome.

We need photos of the top plates.
The case is made in England.
Could be British or French?
8x24?
Please measure the clear aperture of the front lenses.

Independent eyepiece focus.

Does it have an arrow mark?
14A?
Does it have a reticule?

Bakelite eyecups?

Kershaw?

The clear aperture of the front lens is .24 mm
The top plates
It does not have any arrows on it.
It does not have reticule
Bakelite eyecups yes I think.

Thanks.
The 5 is dioptres not magnification.
Count bricks at a fairly long distance using one side using binocular. The other unaided eye then swop eyes. Take average. This will give an estimate of the magnification.

Seems uncoated.
Pre WW2??

P.S.
What is the weight?
Is it light alloy or brass?

P.P.S
I would have thought a British binocular would be marked, so suspect French, but I am quite unsure.
Perhaps the screwheads can give a repairer a clue.

Probably 8x24.

Those two screws spaced so closely together on the objective prism plates are unusual, and I haven't seen this arrangement before. But it could be a repair and not original to manufacture.

The objectives look smaller than 30mm, so guess would be 6 or 8x24, Binastro is probably right with pre WW11, the overall look does not say British to me, it could be, but looks more French, the 2 prism plate screws front and back do not suggest German. Pretty impossible to say unless you find one like it.

The pebble covering whispers Leitz. But, it's only a whisper.

Welcome back Bill, I thought they had an overall german look, but the prism plate screws position put me off.
