I went there for a roughly 6km hike this morning. It is one of the few areas open for backwoods camping all year, and also one of the oldest state parks here.

I will be going there in spring to do about 10km of the rocky trail.

It was pleasant for December. I saw several woodpeckers..some I just heard..Brown Creeper, Nuthatches. In the parking lot I saw a large falcon, which I am putting down as Prairie Falcon, as the Peregrine is not here in December usually. An adult Peregrine it was not. Color did not fit.
