I believe the Beetle in the attached photo is probably the Thick-legged flower Beetle (oedemera nobilis). I would however appreciate confirmation that this is the case and its not Ischnomera cyanea.
What are the main differences between the two ?

Many Thanks

Hello,

Yes it is Oedemera nobilis, of which the male has 'swollen' thighs as in your photo. Also the Elytra narrow at the ends exposing the membranous wings underneath. It's generally quite 'shiny' too.

The overall shape of Ischnomera cyanea is different. The Elytra cover the whole abdomen of the beetle and it is more 'matt' in appearance.
