taken by a friend in May 2007 around Beidaihe - I have no field guide covering this region so any suggestions much appreciated

I don't know Chinese Warblers, but I think there are several features which make Arctic unlikely for the second bird - the legs appear to be bright yellow (or maybe bright pink) to start with (should be much duller in my experience), and the bill also appears to be too yellow and short.

Agree with Mac - bill way too yellow and legs wrong. But Chinese phyllosoc way to too varied and anything can turn up anywhere on migration so defer to someone far better than me to comment further!
 
The first is a worn Yellow-browed as stated, the second is a Radde's or Dusky Warbler, although I'd favour the former at the moment, do you have any other images of this bird?
