I wanted to share my solution for adding a BSA Red Dot sight to my Kowa scope. I did not want to void the lifetime warrantee, I tried various methods and found this to be simple and so far the best. On the Red Dot sight, I replace the movable side of the gun rail mount with a 3/4 inch aluminum angle, drilled the screw clamp holes and clamped it to the existing tube site. Adjusted the dot to match the scope view and I was done. It can be removed and re-attached and it keeps the alignment.
It is very quick to use, the finder has no magnification so the field of view is large and red dot light level is adjustable for bright daylight or dims down for stars at night. For digiscoping, getting the camera on the bird and taking the shot before it's gone is very helpful.
