Simon Barnes on White Storks and Maltese Hunting (1 Viewer)

Many thanks, once again, Joanne! Leon has let me borrow a couple of Mr Barnes' books; I just hope that I can find the time to read them!

All the very best,
Reg

Yeah, I like it. Who's it by?

Joanne

It's by a singer called Tim Booth, he's a solo artist and lead vocals in Manchester band James and the lyrics are about the process of shoving off your issues onto others rather than acknowledging them as your own. I'm quite intrigued by it.
Lyrics are from his solo album 'Bone'. The next bit that tags on goes:

Everyone's looking for their own way to get high
Find God, shoot 'em up
Learn how to die
My head's full of self pitying noise
I need a clean me
Need a new voice

chorus
Go down
Down to the sea
Down to the ocean
She's calling to me

Everybody's famous for a second or two
We could address the world's distress
But the popstar's on two
Lookin so damn lonely
Lookin for his soul
Tryin hard to cover up
The emptiness, the hole

I might be going on a bit here but I just love his music and it's nice to share these great lyrics. I think I need to go and play it right now!
