Is this a Red-eared slider? I don't see any red. Shot into sun, I am surprised I was able to get any detail at all.

Do you have any other pictures? Could you give a more exact location? Either or both of those would help.

It appears to be some kind of Slider or River Cooter, but I'm having some trouble narrowing it down. Thanks.

But even the markings on belly and bridge, as well as on throat point to Trachemys scripta elegans.
 
Yes, after further consideration I agree with Mario - it's a Red-eared Slider. Sometimes, especially as the turtle stretches, the red is higher on the head. Also, sometimes it is missing or muted.
