Hello from Paul and Sue living in Bulgaria near Varna on the Via Pontica.
We live on the bank of a lake and are priviliged to see some wonderful sights e.g today 4 Ospreys fishing the lake. I came across this site as one of the photographs I took of the Ospreys shows that at least one of them has a ring on the left leg and I was googling to see where it may be from. The photo isn't clear enough to show any lettering so don't think we'll get anywhere with it.
However, great time of year for us - we get the Ospreys in our front garden and last year about this time witnessed the migration of hundreds of honey buzzards and short toed eagles.
During the summer we get the beautiful Bee eaters who nest behind the village as well as Golden Orioles, Hoopoes and a variety of shrikes.
Will post some photos of the Ospreys shortly.
