Hi there!
There are two photos of a bird, which were taken in August 2017 in Greece, Peloponnese. I'm not an expert of Greece birds, so, please, help me to identify it!

[QUOsTE=RafaelMatias;3667270]It's a female House Sparrow.[/QUOTE]

Or a female Spanish Sparrow? I'm curious, is there a way to tell them apart? I always thought impossible?

It is very difficult at best, yes. I must say I didn't pay enough attention that the photo was taken in August (when both species are possible, I think Spanish is a summer visitor there). I assumed (I know, my fault, I should read more carefully) the photo had been taken recently. Actually there are some traits in this bird's plumage that could suggest Spanish (the contrasty back, with paler "braces"). I'm more than happy to call this a Sparrow sp. (might be a juv. as well)...
