This scruffy urchin keeps appearing on my feeders, doesn’t look like anything in my British bird book. A bit bigger than blue tit and very blue. I’m in north London and surrounded by fields and woods. Can anyone help?

It has the wing markings of a Blue Tit - white tertail tips, greater covert bar but admittedly very blue looking, maybe because of missing pigments. The difference in apparent shape is maybe an effect of the body plumage that's in such disarray. Its just a guess of mine so wait for other's opinions as it is a very unusual looking individual.

Wing bar is right for blue tit, so surely not Azure or Azure x Blue - i agree with Simon
