Our local camera shop is selling these for £50, including table top tripod and case. Out of curiosity I tried one and was blown away by the quality, even at twice the price. Ultra light, it can be stuffed in a pocket, so I bought one to use when out on my pushbike. Would be really good for a youngster starting out.

The scope I normally use is a Zeiss 85 (just in case you think I'm very easily pleased!)

I am that youngster starting out and yes it is excellent for the price.

I was up by Wycoller near Burnley watching Lapwings with it and I got some fine views, the only problem being that a decent tripod will cost more than the scope!
