Tree sparrows in Wirral (UK) (1 Viewer)

Was pleasantly surprised to see a tree sparrow eating my sister-in-laws fatballs yesterday. Garden in Mollington, Cheshire, surrounded by arable crop fields.

Anyone know what the general situation with tree sparrows is on the Wirral? Are they fairly common here? First time I've seen them in this part of the country!

I used to see them quite regularly in the Mollington area when I lived at my parents' place many years ago. Good to hear they're still around.

There are a few pairs hanging around Lea-by-Backford which isn't far from Mollington and the occasional ones by me at Backford Cross. A few birds congregate in the winter with the large House Sparrow flock on a local farm.
