I just got a SWEET new neighborhood bird in the form of a calling Least Bittern at the small (~1/4 acre) patch of reeds adjacent to the small lake in the neighborhood. There are also many skunks around those lakes - last night my brother and I almost got nailed by one after nearly tripping over it... :t:

Neil G.

Wiktoria - congrats on the lifers! Nice pictures too!

Hey everyone! :hi: I am back from Holden Beach, NC and have got some awesome birds for my life list! I saw oodles of White Ibises, a handful of Royal Terns, 3 Tricolored Herons, and the highlight of the whole trip... a MALE Painted Bunting!!!! Woohoo! So what has been going on? Seems like I have been offline for ages!

Hello everyone

how long have some of you guys been birding for? I've been into it since the age of 6, 8 years! I never get tired of it - except when it's crap!

As long as your posts are worth reading, go for it!

So I'm back from baltimore. As usual, no Carolina Chickadees or anything for the year list, but some interesting ticks, including a Bald Eagle on the way home. Amazing actually, since most of the drive was through New Jersey and Delaware! Who goes birding in Delaware??? And when we were approaching NYC in northern New Jersey I was hearing something on the radio about how there was going to be a concert in the Meadowlands and it was being advertised nationally as being in New York. That's how ashamed New Jersey is of the wasteland in the north there!
