Hi, this bird seems to be exhibiting the front crown, rather than rear of a Cormorant, and also yellowish beak - pretty poor photos, but appreciate any comment one way or the other from those with more experience of the species please.

Thanks, am without computer at present, so have attempted back of camera shots for slight improvement in quality - unfortunately wasn’t birding as such, but had a camera so this is the best view I had also!

And an equally poor shot of a Cormorant for scale.

Thanks all!

Got a lot closer today, different groyne, but possibly the same bird. (Only quickly processed on an ipad).

Are you sure they are all the same bird? This one
http://www.birdforum.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=640994&d=1506449936
looks like it might be a sinensis cormorant to me.

Hi, I have now got round to looking at the original photos again, and can confirm that they were all taken within 54 seconds of each other, so I am pretty sure they are all the same bird in that original set - positioning on the groyne cage is the same in all too.

I have also tried to process the raw file a little to get a bit more out of it, now I have access to my computer again. I attach this and a further shot of the bird I got much closer to, in case of use to others, although wish I’d had my bigger lens with me on both occasions.

I think sinensis can be ruled out?

Thanks.
