Video with Canon HF200 + Nikon 300mm F4 (1 Viewer)

I have just uploaded a video taken through a 35mm Showtime adapter. Here is the link.

The video was converted into a format for youtube. Thus, the quality is so-so. I hope to fabricate a balance plate and specific system to hold the equipment soon.

Since the 35mm adapter gives an inverted orientation, i figured that I could save time in flipping the video during post processing by shooting video with the camcorder attached to the 35mm adapter upside down. I tried and it works!

After uploading the mts file into the computer,
1. first I convert the mts files to MP4 HD format
2. white-balance and sharpen the new video
3. upload to youtube

that's it!

Hi,

Nice footage (especially second one). I wonder what was the data bit rate of mp4 that you have use to convert from original mts file? And what was the camera settings? Thanks.

I didn't pay attention to the data rate. anyway, just a check at the video properties reveal the following...
data rate: 1683kbps

Hi Weng,

I am also using Showtime adapter. I asked the data bit rate since the footage seems originally in good quality, but in youtube it is a bit smashed. I generally archive my footage in 1280X720, 50p at 50 000 kbps. When I upload to the vimeo, I reduce the bite rate down to 5000 kbps and frame rate down to 30 fps. I believe your footage will seem better if you upload it in a higher bit rate (It depends on what youtube allows.).

Hi Weng,

On my computer screen (Mac), your vimeo footage is quite better than the youtube one. I think it is releated with the differences of the compression architechture of two sites, if the data bit rates are same.
